Hello, my crafty friends!
I am here today to announce that our February challenge has just started at Stamps and Stencils!
Our hostess Sue has chosen the theme 'Splatter, Spritz, Smoosh'!
Here is the description:
What can be better that getting messy in your craft room, so for this challenge it's time to get out those sprays, paints and inks and really get messy ! We want to see splattering, spritzing and smooshing! Just remember to include either some stamping or stencilling.
I was inspired to create a tea bag art journal page and here is the final result:
I decided to use only tea and Vintage photo Distress stain spray for this project so I pulled out my old book art journal, covered my pages with white gesso and started to play with my used tea bag.
Here is the result of 'smooshing' the tea in several layers. I also used my stamping acrylic block for this technique.
I prepared my spray bottle for some spritzing but I filled it with tea, not with water.
I used one of my TCW stencils and Distress stain spray in Vintage photo on the background and then I spritzed it with my spray bottle with tea.
After a lot of smooshing, spraying and spritzing I added some splatters using my gold acrylic paint diluted with water.
To create my paper art doll I used several different stamps and a Tim Holtz Birdcage die. I wanted to achieve a rust effect so I used a Vintage photo distress embossing powder and some distress stains on my Birdcage die cut. I also used some thread, some vintage buttons and some lace trims to add more texture. I love to doodle on my art journal pages so I used my Faber Castell Pitt Artist pens, my FC charcoal pencil, Stabilo Woody pencil in gold and my FC fine liner for some doodling. For the quote I used Idealogy small talk stickers.
I cut the bottom part of my used tea bags and glued down some old photos inside. I used my Distress crackle paint in Clear Rock Candy on top of my tea bags. For more interest, I added a tea dyed piece of a medical gauze and a leftover from my Birdcage die.
That is it for today!
Thank you so much for visiting my blog and for leaving sweet comments!
Hugs! Branka xxx
